Episode 1: The Little Mermaid with Dr. JaNae Taylor

Wanda and Shannan sit down with psychotherapist Dr. JaNae Taylor to reminisce about jamming to “Kiss the Girl” while asking, with some real concern, “Who is Flounder’s mama?” Does she know where he is? The star of the show, though, is Ursula, petty queen of darkness. Who is the Sea Witch, really?

Episode one is now live! It should show up in iTunes shortly if it’s not already there. We had a few issues with the sound while recording this first one, which we hope you’ll forgive us for. We figured out what was causing the feedback, and it’s not an issue in future episodes.

We also wanted to make one small correction. While retelling Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, Shannan says the Little Mermaid will serve 100 years as a Daughter of the Air. It’s actually 300 years. And yeah, we booed that even harder. If you’d like to form your own impressions, you can read Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid” online.

You can find our wonderful guest, Dr. JaNae Taylor, online at Minding My Black Business and on Twitter.
